Practice
We’re known for sensitive interventions, where old meets new and the careful mediation between the two. But whether old or new, our process is creative and thorough, considering the interplay of site, light, views, history, material and people’s experiences alongside new technologies, sustainability and delivery methods to develop innovative and authentic responses.
With an intuitive understanding of building, we work from concept to completion, delivering projects to the highest standards while adding value at every stage.
We are architects, designers and makers dedicated to creating distinctive, beautifully crafted buildings and comfortable spaces to come together, live and work.
Collaborating with homeowners and creatively-driven developers and clients, we design projects rich with detail and full of meaning, including arts and cultural schemes, new homes, house extensions, residential refurbishments and commercial buildings at all scales.
Mark Stevens, Founder
BA (Hons), Dip Arch, ARB, RIBA
Mark founded Mark Stevens Architects to design buildings and spaces that delight and inspire. This ambition and a meticulous, solution-orientated approach characterise the practice’s work.
Mark has experience working on historic and contemporary interventions and combined the two to create award-winning projects celebrated for their clarity of vision, design quality, and execution, including the widely published Omved Gardens, Mayfair and Bankside projects. His experience covers installations, homes, housing schemes and commercial developments in the UK and further afield.
Before setting up his practice, he was co-founder of HASA Architects, a studio focused on intelligent design with respect for people, place and materials, an ethos he continues today. He has also worked for John McAslan + Partners, Maybank Matthews Architects, and McLaren Excell, delivering projects of exceptional quality.
Mark is committed to opening up the world of architecture to create a more diverse profession that represents the communities we live and work in. He was part of the RIBA Architecture Ambassadors programme to engage young people in the built environment and is currently involved in the RIBA Future Architects student mentoring scheme. Mark is also a RIBA West London Architects group committee member and has been a visiting critic at several universities.
